Come along on the cruise on our trimaran Suzy, and discover Korčula´s archipelago composed of some 20 small islands, islets and cliffs which form a unique oasis of beauty. The biggest and most famous of the isles is called Badija where the old 15.th century Franciscan monastery is located. In the years from 1949 until 2002 the island served as a sports center, where numerous talented Croatian and former Yugoslav athletes have trained and prepared themselves for upcoming competitions. The other famous island Vrnik, is the only inhabited island of the archipelago, where you can also visit 2 quarries. The white limestone that was mined from here can be found in buildings of Korčula, Dubrovnik, Istanbul (Haya Sophia), Washington and many other places in Croatia and all over the world. Its quality is thus at the very top and appearance likewise. The islet of Majsan, also among bigger ones in the archipelago, is rather intriguing for its prehistoric findings that have yet been examined. These 3 islets are the most significant, however all of the other ones are also very beautiful and they all have a particular story or a legend of their own. Vegetation of these isles is quite diverse, on some you can even find vineyards. The sea current around the islands is quite strong and is the reason why the color of the exceptionally clear water has this transparently turquoise tone, making it very attractive to explore. Here is also a location of first Greek colony of the Adriatic – the hamlet of Lumbarda is known for its exceptional vineyards of the famous wine Grk and its sandy beaches.
